Strom R3 electric 2-seater bookings open for INR 10,000

Electric mobility solutions company, Strom has started accepting pre-launch bookings for the Strom R3, a 100% electric three-wheeler that offers an eco-friendly compact personal mobility solution for aficionados looking for an electric vehicle. The bookings for the Strom R3 is open at INR 10,000 and the company will soon reveal the three-wheeler’s price in the Indian market.

Exteriors & Dimensions

The Strom R3 features contemporary exterior features and comes with a blank front grille design with ‘Strom’ lettering, rounded headlamps, swept-back applique that integrates the grille and headlights, a geometric front apron, a small sloped bonnet design, rounded wheel arches with 13-inch alloy wheels, a tapering roofline that ends with a sharply raked rear windscreen, chiselled rear section, two-wheels on the front and a single wheel at the rear. The compact three-wheeler measures 2907mm in length, 1450mm in width, 1572mm in height and tips the scales at just 550 kgs at the kerb. The electric three-wheeler also comes with a cargo-carrying capacity of 300-litres on the rear and 100-litres at the front.

Interiors

The Strom R3 comes with two-seater and three-seater configuration options. The futuristic three-wheeler also comes with a Triple Touchscreen Interface with Gesture and Voice Controls consisting of a 7-inch central infotainment screen, a 4.3-inch instruments cluster and a 2.4-inch display for the HVAC. The interiors of the Strom R3 are minimalist and the three-wheeler comes with an IoT enabled continuous monitoring system, power windows and a sunroof.

Powertrain

Powering the Strom R3 is a 15 kW electric high-efficiency AC motor that belts out 90 Nm of torque with drive-by-wire electric throttle and an integrated single-speed gearbox that can propel the Strom R3 to an electronically limited top speed of 80 kmph. The three-wheeler also comes with an electronic regenerative braking system with Normal, Aggressive and Off modes. The electric power unit draws power from a lithium-ion battery pack that claims a range option of up to 200 km on a single charge. The batteries can be charged in 3 hours using an on-board charger.
