An upcoming electric vehicle charging network, Statiq, has announced its partnership with Ather Energy. As a part of this collaboration, Statiq and Ather Energy are set to share EV charging locations in the North parts of the country. As per plans, installations will carry on across the entire North region of India. The company also confirmed that they will concentrate more on the NCR region. With this collaboration, Statiq has also put on a long term target to enable every user in the EV ecosystem to travel stress-free.
EV Infrastructure In Much Demand
The proliferation of electric vehicles in the market has led to the high demand for viable charging infrastructure. The sales growth of EVs is not quite aligned with the growth of EV charging stations. And hence, EV owners are facing a lot of issues related to range anxiety due to limited charging station availability. With this initiative, Statiq, along with Ather Energy, aim to boost the charging network across India and enhance the EV ecosystem.
The initiative will result in a more robust network of chargers for future usage. This is because the ever-growing Statiq network will leverage Ather Energy’s fast-charging network, Ather Grid. With the target in place, Statiq will also provide an end-to-end ecosystem for EV chargers. Additionally, for riders riding in town or city or on long drives over weekends and holidays, Statiq will make sure to have an EV charging station nearby.
The Current Status
Recently, Statiq announced its collaboration with state-owned refining and marketing company Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited. With this, the company will add about 200+ charging stations in the states of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Uttarakhand. As of now, Statiq has already installed 600+ charging stations, with some recent ones coming up in Karnataka, Himachal Pradesh, and Rajasthan. By the end of 2022, Statiq targets to have approximately a 10,000-strong charging network. Statiq is also doing extensive research for setting up the location for its charging stations.
