Skoda’s new compact SUV will arrive by January 2025

Skoda in the recent past announced that the brand is getting ready to launch a new compact SUV for the Indian market. Now, reports reveal that the Skoda Compact SUV will make its debut by January 2025. Furthermore, sources also reveal that the Skoda Compact SUV is likely to go on sale in the Indian market my March 2025. The compact SUV is likely to come with a shorter iteration of the MQB A0 IN platform, which currently underpins the Slavia, Kushaq, Taigun and Virtus cars in the Skoda-VW group.

What to Expect?

The Skoda compact SUV is likely to come with a design which could be similar to the recently unveiled Skoda Eqip. Under the hood, the compact SUV could come with a 1.0-litre TSI engine which is likely to have a manual as well as an automatic gearbox option. The brand is also likely to use recycled materials on its  interiors. The car is also likely to come with a number of comfort and convenience features such as a large touchscreeen and a ventilated seat.

Features

In the recent past, spyshots of a test mule even revealed that the compact SUV is likely to share parts from the Skoda Kushaq such as the steering wheel, the gear knob, AC controls, and the instruments cluster. Thanks to the part sharing, the compact SUV is likely to come with a competitive price as the company will be able to balance the economies of scale. In addition to this, reports reveal that the part sharing does not only end on its interiors, the front doors are also likely to be from the Kushaq. But, the compact SUV is likely to come with shorter rear doors as well as a shorter overhang compared to the Kushaq.

Competition

Upon launch the Skoda Compact SUV will compete with the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite and the Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
