Skoda starts exporting Kushaq SUV from India

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

ŠKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Private Limited (SAVWIPL) manages the Indian region of the five Volkswagen Group brands – ŠKODA, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini. The company has announced yet another significant milestone in its export program. It has now started off with the shipment of the Made-in-India ŠKODA KUSHAQ LHD (left-hand-drive). This is a landmark achievement for SAVWIPL because the KUSHAQ is the first-ever locally-built ŠKODA model to reach foreign countries from India. SAVWIPL confirmed that the first consignment of KUSHAQ LHD SUVs will head to Arab Gulf Cooperation Council (AGCC) countries. Earlier this year, SAVWIPL had started with the export of INDIA 2.0 cars with the Volkswagen Taigun SUV. Then the Volkswagen Virtus sedan followed in September.

KUSHAQ All Set To Conquer Foreign Markets

This accomplishment is quite a proud moment for the team in India. Thus now, the ŠKODA model joins the group’s export line-up. KUSHAQ is the third Made-in-India car SAVWIPL will export this year. The start of export also talks highly of the group’s endeavour to ‘Engineer cars in India to be Driven by the World’ initiative. Thus, going forward, we expect Skoda to experience remarkable success on this front.

The start of sales to foreign countries also highlights Skoda’s global quality standards. The KUSHAQ is a product whose proposition perfectly matches the customers’ requirements in India and globally. Thus the company is confident that this stylish, well-equipped, robust, and engaging-to-drive SUV will open doors to new markets and regions for SAVWIPL.

Exports To Play A Vital Role For SAVWIPL

SAVWIPL launched its first export program back in 2011. This was with 6,256 units of the India-built Volkswagen Vento for the South African market. Since then, the company’s export market has continued to grow substantially to build the group’s ‘Made-in-India’ presence. Currently, the group exports the ‘Made In India’ products to over 44 countries across South America, Central America, the Indian Subcontinent, Africa, Southeast Asia, the AGCC countries, and the Caribbean region. As of today, the group has already exported close to 5.5 lakh cars from India. Currently, Mexico is the largest export market for SAVWIPL. Then on the list are South Africa and Central American countries (Ecuador, Columbia, and Argentina), as well as ASEAN countries.
