Skoda’s popular sedan, the Skoda Slavia is slated to get a mid-cycle and its first ever update in 2025. The Slavia was one of the two products launched under the India 2.0 initiative by Skoda India. It has been on sale since 2022 and this will be the first time it gets a facelift/update.
What to Expect
The facelifted Slavia is expected to get minor design updates. The grille, headlamps, tail-lamps will see some changes. It might also get redesigned bumpers at the front and rear. The new Slavia might also get connected LEDs at the front. Inside the cabin, we might see a few updates to the infotainment display and the instrument cluster.
Another major update which has been missing in the Slavia is ADAS functionality. The facelifted variant will come with level 2 ADAS suite bringing it at par with its arch-rival, the Hyundai Verna. Another missing feature is the 360-degree camera which will also be added to the facelift.
Powertrain
While the Skoda Slavia could receive, mild updates to the front fascia and technological updates in terms of its safety, the mid-size sedan is likely to continue with the same set of engines. Powering the new Slavia is likely to be the same 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that produces 114 Hp of power and 178 Nm of torque.
Skoda is also likely to continue with the 1.5-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine developing 148 Hp of power and 250 Nm of torque. The car is also likely to come with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox choices.
This also leads us to believe that Volkswagen will also in the near future, update the Virtus sedan with similar features. Both the Slavia and Virtus share the MQB-A0-IN platform as well as the TSI-family engines. Hence, we believe that both the cars are likely to come with minor updates in the near future.
