Skoda has unveiled the all-new Slavia premium mid-size sedan in the Indian market. The brand has released the design sketches of the new Skoda Slavia, revealing the exterior details of the new car. The brand has also announced that Slavia will make its official debut before the end of November 2021. The Skoda Slavia is the brand’s second vehicle under the India Project 2.0.
The mid-size sedan underpins the MQB-A0-IN platform that made its debut on the Skoda Kushaq SUV in India. The Skoda Slavia sedan is developed chiefly at the SKODA AUTO Volkswagen India Technology Centre in Pune. Furthermore, Skoda Slavia will be locally produced at the Volkswagen Group’s production facility in Pune, and the vehicle is designed to meet India’s new, stricter safety and emissions specifications.
Skoda Slavia – Exterior Design Highlights
The brand boasts that the Skoda Slavia will come with an emotive design language. The Skoda Slavia will also feature balanced proportions and a coupe-style silhouette. The first two design sketches reveal the vehicles front and the silhouette of the premium mid-size sedan. The Skoda Slavia comes with a low front section that features a wide, hexagonal SKODA grille. The grille extends all the way into the slender, sharply defined headlights. The headlights of the car come with L-shaped daytime running light strip. In addition to this, the car also features a coupe-style silhouette and a long wheelbase. The brand also offers a distinctive badge with the SKODA wordmark on the front wings.
The Skoda Slavia also reveals a progressive roofline that slopes gently towards the rear. The roofline gently merges into the rear deck of the vehicle integrating with the boot lid. In addition to this, the boot lid also features the SKODA wordmark in block letters. The car also features a chrome strip on the rear apron along with red reflectors to increase the nighttime visibility of the vehicle as well as the width. The rear end of the car also features Skoda’s signature C-shaped light design, split into two to extend into the boot lid.
Skoda Slavia – Dimensions and Powertrain Details
In the recent past, Skoda revealed that the Slavia would measure 4,541 mm in length, 1,752 mm in width, and 1,487 mm in height. The Slavia will also come with a wheelbase of 2,651 mm, offering spacious interiors and boot space. The Skoda Slavia is likely to come with a 1.0-litre TSI three-cylinder petrol engine as well as a 1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI petrol engine on higher-specification models. Skoda will also offer the Slavia will active and passive safety features, including six airbags.
