Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited introduced its first-ever student car project for the Indian market.
Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Student Training Program
As part of this project, selected students of the Group Academy’s Dual Vocational Training in Mechatronics programme have constructed a cabriolet version of the Skoda Rapid. This project gives the students a hands-on experience in the automotive industry. This will allow them to apply their theoretical knowledge in a practical setup.
This initiative reflects the Group’s commitment towards the Indian market. They are helping to nurture talent and promote innovation in the Indian automotive industry. Such initiatives will also help create an opportunity for the realization of futuristic ideas. Building prototypes like these will help in the out-of-box thinking without the fear of failure.
What Are The Interiors And Exteriors Like?
Among all the customisations done, the one that really stands out is the Skoda badge on the bonnet. In fact, this retracts with the push of a button. The Rapid Cabriolet also gains an LED lip light. We also see yellow accents along the front bumper, doors and brake calipers. We also see a standard exhaust has also been swapped in favour of a sportier one.
On the inside, one of the key challenges was mounting the seatbelts in the absence of B pillars. The interior has been reworked to make it into a sporty scarlet-red upholstery. We even see the addition of a touchscreen infotainment unit. Details of the engine specifications and gearbox are not yet out.
Skoda Academy Has This Azubi Student Car International Project
As of now, this is the first Student Car Project brought in by Skoda Auto Volkswagen India. Internationally, the Azubi Student Car Project is now in its ninth edition. The Indian Academy is taking big steps to standardize the Student Car Program. In fact, they are planning to include it as a project in the student syllabus.
