Skoda Kushaq completes one year of its existence in the Indian market. Thus to celebrate this milestone, Skoda has launched the first-ever limited-run Anniversary Edition version of the Kushaq. Very similar to the existing top-spec Style variant of the lineup, albeit with some added cosmetic upgrades. The new Skoda Kushaq Anniversary Edition is available with a total of four different powertrain options.
Compared to the current top-spec Style variant, the Anniversary Edition is quite costly. The new Skoda Kushaq is priced higher by INR 30,000 for all four versions in which it is available. The Kushaq Anniversary Edition comes with a slew of cosmetic upgrades that adds to the exclusives significantly.
What’s New On The Outside?
On the outside, we get to see the new Skoda Kushaq Anniversary Edition come with ‘Anniversary Edition’ badges on the C-pillars. They are also present on the chrome garnish at the bottom of the door panels. The SUV continues with the attractive 17-inch alloy wheels, front and rear skid plates, and a single-pane sunroof from the Style variant. The Kushaq Anniversary Edition is available with all the color options that we see in Kushaq’s range.
Changes We See For The Interiors
On the inside, we do see some significant upgrades. The Skoda Kushaq Anniversary Edition when compared to the Style variant gets new contrast stitching, door edge protectors, and an ‘Anniversary Edition’ badge on the steering wheel.
The key highlight of this edition is the inclusion of the 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This was previously replaced with a new 8-inch display unit a few months ago. This larger infotainment will most likely get more connectivity options and wireless connectivity for Apple Carplay and Android Auto. Previously, Skoda cited the global shortage of semiconductor chips as a reason for the replacement of this larger 10-inch screen with the new 8-inch screen. Interestingly, we see the same system in the Volkswagen Taigun and Virtus, although with different Volkswagen brandings.
No Changes Mechanically
Like the other versions of the Skoda Kushaq, the Anniversary Edition retains the same engine options. Thus the customers get to choose from both a 1.0-liter three-cylinder TSI engine and the 1.5-liter four-cylinder TSI engine. The 1.0-litre TSI comes with both a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic and produces 115 PS of power and 175 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the 1.5-liter TSI, which has both a 6-speed manual and 7-speed dual-clutch automatic (DSG) gearbox options, produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque.
