Skoda recently launched the Kushaq SUV in the Indian market. The Kushaq came with the Active, Ambition and Style variants and two engine options. The Skoda Kushaq is available with the 1.0-litre TSI petrol engine and a 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine option. The 1.5-litre engine option is currently available only in the top-of-the-line Style variant.
Leaked Homologation Documents
But now, reports suggest that Skoda has received type approval from the ARAI, and the brand has homologated the mid-spec Ambition variant with the 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine option. Leaked documents also reveal that the new Skoda 1.5-litre Ambition model will come with both manual (Referred: MT) and DSG automatic (Referred: AT) variants.
Skoda Kushaq Style 1.5L – Price
The Skoda Kushaq Style variant comes with a starting price tag of INR 16.20 lakh ex-showroom. The price is for 1.5-litre TSI with a manual transmission engine option. The 1.5-litre DSG automatic engine comes with a price tag of INR 17.60 lakh ex-showroom. The Ambition 1.5L MT is likely to start with a price tag of INR 14.40 lakh ex-showroom. On the other hand, Ambition 1.5L with DSG automatic is likely to come with a price tag starting at INR 16 lakh ex-showroom.
Skoda Kushaq 1.5L – Engine Specifications
The Skoda Kushaq 1.5L comes with the Volkswagen Group’s renowned TSI family engine. The 1.5-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder engine produces 150 PS of power and 250 Nm of torque. Skoda offers a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox on the 1.5-litre model. The powerful engine enables the SUV to sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 8.6 seconds and achieves a top speed of 190 kmph.
The engine is not just powerful but also efficient and comes with advanced technologies such as Active Cylinder Technology. Also known as ‘ACT’, the globally acclaimed technology can automatically shut down two cylinders under low engine loads. Skoda claims that the Kushaq returns an ARAI tested mileage of 17.95 kmpl for manual transmission and 17.71 kmpl for the DSG automatic variant.
Skoda Kushaq Ambition 1.5L – Features
The Skoda Kushaq Ambition will come with features such as a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The latest generation infotainment will come with wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto integration. The SUV will also feature automatic climate control, a cooled glovebox, ambient lighting, cruise control, LED lights, dual front airbags, ABS + EBD, Electronic Stability Control etc. But the brand is not likely to offer ventilated seats and a sunroof.
