Skoda Auto India enters used car market with ‘Certified Pre-Owned’ programme

Skoda Auto has announced the launch of a new vertical called the ’Certified Pre-Owned’ programme. With the new programme, the Czech marque has forayed into the used car market with new customer-centric offerings also assuring transparent pricing and convenience. In the initial phase, the brand will be offering the pre-owned car programme in Mumbai, Delhi (NCR), Coimbatore, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Hyderabad and Goa which will be extended nationwide in the subsequent phase over the course of 12 months, under the India 2.0 project. 

The ’Certified Pre-Owned’ handpicked range of vehicles will go through a comprehensive set of 160 plus checkpoints assessed by trained professionals and necessary maintenance and repairs are carried out using genuine parts and accessories. The brand offers both Skoda vehicles and vehicles from other OEMs under the Certified Pre-Owned. The brand backs up the Skoda range of pre-owned vehicles with a warranty of up to 24 months or 150,000 kilometres and 12 months or 15,000 kilometres on vehicles from other manufacturers. 

Customers can also trade-in their old vehicle which may or may not be a Skoda vehicle and receive attractive exchange bonuses for the purchase of new Skoda vehicles including Skoda SUVs, Sedans and the RS. The new ’Certified Pre-Owned’ programme also offers contactless virtual product demonstration option and live consultation through the dedicated online website. Customer can explore the range of pre-owned vehicles, sign-up online and interact with specialised technicians, qualified evaluators as well as sales consultants using video conferencing over smartphones, tablets and personal computers. 

Furthermore, the Skoda Certified Pre-Owned vehicle owners can also opt for 24/7 roadside assistance packages. The brand is also extending features such as access to complete service history, mileage assurance certificate, complimentary transfer of ownership documents along with insurance and finance schemes making the purchase of pre-owned vehicles easier.

In other news, Skoda Auto India launched the much-awaited Rapid TSI Automatic Transmission at the introductory price starting from INR 9.49 lakhs ex-showroom, India. The Skoda Rapid TSI competes with mid-size sedans such as the Hyundai Verna, Honda City, Volkswagen Vento, Maruti Suzuki Ciaz, and the Toyota Yaris in the Indian market.
