Simple Energy has announced a delay in commencing the deliveries of its flagship scooter, the Simple ONE. The company mentioned the recent battery safety guidelines issued by MoRTH as the reason for the delay. This will ensure that the Simple ONE electric scooter will comply and adhere to the new standards. At the same time, the company did anticipate a new framework to come in light of the recent incidents in the EV industry. But, the recent battery safety guidelines issued add to the safety significantly. In fact, these guidelines are a priority in the electric vehicle, given the industry is still at a nascent stage.

New Battery Regulation Causing Delivery Delay

Simple mentioned that adhering to the new battery safety guidelines issued by the government will take some time. Thus, making the scooters certified as per new standards will delay the deliveries of Simple ONE electric scooters. Having talked of safety which has been Simple’s priority since the beginning, the company ensures to deliver the best in class scooters that are safe and futuristic.

With the deliveries planned in the following quarter, the company empathised deeply with its customers who had pre-booked the scooters post its launch in August 2021. But Simple mentioned that they are taking significant measures to make the scooter as safe as possible. Not just in India, but the scooter will match the standards of scooters at the international level. Thus, taking the nation to a global platform. Simple Energy has already conducted its test rides for the customers to experience the scooter. This happened across twelve cities, namely: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Pune, Goa, Ahmedabad, Indore, Jaipur, Delhi, Lucknow, and Bhubaneswar. To date, a total of three thousand people have experienced riding the Simple One across the above cities.
