Should this updated Dacia Spring EV come to India as the Renault Kwid EV?

Dacia has introduced the new Spring Electric Vehicle in the international market. Dacia is Renault’s sister company and retails its products in the European market under the Dacia brand. The new Spring EV is based on the Renault Kwid EV and comes with a major overhaul in the exterior design as well as its interiors. In addition to this, the brand is also offering major safety updates with the new Spring EV.

Dacia Spring EV – Design and Features

The new Dacia Spring EV comes with an SUV like design and draws inspiration from the Duster. The electric vehicle features a slim LED DRL on the front with a charging socket integrated in the centre of the grille. The Spring EV also comes with the new Dacia logo. The headlamps of the EV are mounted to the bumpers following an SUV design language. The rear of the car also features Y-shaped LED lights and a connected panel on the tailgate.

On the inside, the Dacia Spring EV features a completely new dashboard. The new dashboard comes with a large floating touchscreen in the centre. The EV also comes with a digital instruments panel recessed into a rectangular hood. The dashboard also draws inspiration from the Dacia Duster. The new design also flows across the HVAC system for both controls as well as the vents. Additionally, the Spring EV also gets ADAS features for safety. This includes driver attention monitoring, lane keeping assist, and advanced emergency braking system.

Dacia Spring EV – Technical Specifications

Powering the Dacia Spring EV is a 48 kW single electric motor. The motor produces 45 Hp to 65 Hp of power sending the power to the front wheels. The electric vehicle comes with a 26.8 kWh battery pack that claims to deliver around 220 km on a single charge. In addition to this, the Spring EV is capable of charging from 20% to 80% state of charge in just 45 minutes with a DC charger.
