Safety features in the Skoda Kushaq

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Kushaq, the most anticipated launch from the Volkswagen group, is finally here. The SUV has created a lot of buzz in the market as it is the first-ever product from Volkswagen Group, underpinned by the localised MQB-A0-IN platform. Under the ‘India 2.0’ project, Skoda and Volkswagen are taking necessary steps to make their range of products more appealing to the customers and boost sales.

Skoda has invested a lot of money and resources in the development of the Kushaq. To make it competitive amidst the sea of other SUV options in its segment. Being a European car, Kushaq does resonate with the European characteristics, most prominently the build quality and safety features.

Is Skoda Kushaq The Safest In Its Segment?

To answer this question, first, we will look into the safety features offered on the Kushaq. Skoda offering a 3-point seat belt for the five occupants. This exemplifies the brand’s importance of safety. In addition to this, Kushaq also gets six airbags, Electronic Stability System (EPS), Anti Lock-Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Brake Disc Wiping (BSW), and Hydraulic Brake Boosting (HBV). Skoda also offers automatic headlamps, auto wipers, hill hold assist, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) for the comfort and safety of the driver. Kushaq also gets ISOFIX child seat mounts which adds to the safety and practicality of the vehicle.

More On Safety Features

In case of an emergency, Kushaq’s safety features like Rollover Protection, Multi-Collision Braking (MKB), and Electronic differential lock will help mitigate potential hazards. Kushaq has not been tested by the NCAP (New Car Assessment Program) yet. Hence we do not have the NCAP ratings. But the new-generation Volkswagen’s Polo, based on the MQB-A0 platform, scored four stars in its NCAP crash test. And, this makes us believe that Kushaq, which is also based on a similar platform, will also follow Polo’s path. Please note, the mentioned features may vary depending upon the trim.
