In September 2023, Royal Enfield reported the sale of a total of 78,580 units, marking a 4 per cent decrease from the 82,097 units sold in September 2022. The company’s exports experienced a substantial decline, dropping by 49 per cent compared to last year’s period, with sales decreasing from 8,451 units to 4,319 units. On the domestic front, Royal Enfield sold a total of 74,261 units in September 2023, representing a modest 1 per cent growth compared to the 73,646 units sold in September 2022. Comparing the numbers to August 2023, the company sold 77,583 motorcycles, indicating a month-over-month decrease of 4.28 per cent.
Sales Figures Compared To Last Year
Looking at the year-to-date domestic sales figures from April 2023 to September 2023, Royal Enfield has achieved sales of 4,16,887 motorcycles, showing a robust growth of 22 per cent compared to the 3,40,709 units sold during the same period last year. During this same time frame, exports declined by 26 per cent, going from 54,260 units to 40,099 units.
With the growing interest in Royal Enfield products in India, customers will demand more products in the coming days. Royal Enfield pretty much understands this, and hence, it is coming up with new products, as evident by the recent new launches.
The Road Ahead For Royal Enfield
In other noteworthy news, Royal Enfield has launched an initiative called “Royal Enfield Rentals”. This initiative is a collaboration with more than 40 motorcycle rental operators across 26 cities and destinations in India, including places like Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Dharamshala, Leh, Manali, Haridwar, and Rishikesh, among others. This program offers riders access to a diverse range of over 300 Royal Enfield motorcycles. As stated by Royal Enfield, this program’s primary goal is to provide motorcycle enthusiasts with instant access to Royal Enfield motorcycles. Additionally, Royal Enfield has established partnerships with numerous independent mechanics, custom builders, and motorcycle rental operators throughout India.
