Royal Enfield Shotgun SG650 & Super Meteor spotted in production ready guise

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Royal Enfield is gearing up to launch the new Super Meteor Cruiser motorcycle. Reports also suggest that the brand will soon introduce a new motorcycle on the 650 twins platform called the ‘Shotgun’. Royal Enfield recently unveiled the new SG650 concept motorcycle at the EICMA 2021 in Milan. The new Shotgun is likely to be a derivative of the SG650 concept motorcycle. The SG in the moniker of the concept motorcycle also coincides with ‘Shot’-‘Gun’, a name that Royal Enfield recently filed patents at the intellectual property office. Now, in an official Royal Enfield YouTube video, ‘#90South’, the brand has given us a glimpse of the upcoming Super Meteor 650 and the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650.

Royal Enfield Shotgun 650

In the #90South featured video, the Royal Enfield Shotgun is seen parked on the right-hand side of the workshop entrance. The motorcycle appears to draw its design inspiration from the SG650 Concept, which was recently unveiled at the EICMA 2021 in Milan. The Shotgun appears to come with a power cruiser design language.

The bike appears to get a large fuel tank and a single instruments cluster accompanied by Royal Enfield’s Tripper navigation system. The Shotgun 650 is likely to come with a slightly low set handlebar and ergonomically designed seat. The bike is also likely to come with rounded headlamps and taillamps. The Shotgun 650 appears to be in a production-ready state, and the brand could unveil the motorcycle soon.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650

Another motorcycle that appears in the featured video is the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650. The bike is seen parked (on the left-hand side) at what appears to be Royal Enfield’s technical research and development centre in the UK. According to the pictures of the motorcycle, the Super Meteor 650 will come with an American cruiser design.

The motorcycle appears to come with a relaxed riding posture with a wide and upright handlebar position and a tall touring style windscreen. The motorcycle is also likely to come with forward-set footpegs, and a scooped ergonomically designed seat. The Super Meteor 650 appears to be in a production-ready state, and the brand is likely to launch the motorcycle soon in the Indian and international markets.
