Royal Enfield Scram 650 looks ready for launch

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Royal Enfield has some plans for the 650cc portfolio. With these higher-capacity motorcycles, Royal Enfield aims to expand its reach to overseas markets thus taking on biggies like Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, etc. In the 650cc segment, Royal Enfield has already brought in the Super Meteor 650 earlier this year. Last week only, they launched the updated INT 650 and GT 650. Now the next up in the lineup is likely the 650cc classic roadster, 650cc Himalayan and a 650cc bobber

What Is The Upcoming Royal Enfield 650 Scrambler?

Then there’s a 650cc scrambler that has also been spotted on-road tests. As for the photos we see the motorcycle’s exterior profile. The signature retro styling is pretty much evident in the round headlamp, indicators and rearview mirrors, circular instrument pod, classic fuel tank design and flat-type single-piece saddle. Royal Enfield scrambler 650 also gets a lean build, which looks very similar to Hunter 350.

Features On Offer

Riding ergonomics are pretty comfortable as the motorcycle gets centrally mounted foot pegs and raised handlebar. The motorcycle’s saddle looks big enough to comfortably accommodate a pillion even on longer rides. Scrambler 650 could also become a street-fun motorcycle. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch wire-spoke wheels, linked to USD front forks and spring-loaded dual rear suspension. As for the features Royal Enfield could include Tripper navigation, which could come as an optional feature.

Mechanical Highlights

Powering the Royal Enfield 650 scrambler is the same 648cc parallel-twin motor. The motor makes 47 BHP of max power and 52 Nm of peak torque. The gearbox option includes a 6-speed unit. While engine output remains the same as 650 twins, Scram 650 will probably have a higher power-to-weight ratio. That is because the motorcycle will have a lighter weight with the single-piece exhaust. The upcoming Scrambler 650 looks like a very promising product from Royal Enfield.  Motorcycle enthusiasts will surely keep a close eye on this one.  We expect Royal Enfield Scram 650 to retail in the price range of INR 3.5 lakh range, ex-sh.
