Royal Enfield has officially unveiled its latest offering, the Bear 650, a scrambler-styled variant of the popular Interceptor 650. The Bear 650 is designed to cater to adventure enthusiasts with its rugged aesthetics and enhanced off-road capabilities.
Design and Features
The Bear 650 retains the same 648cc air-oil-cooled parallel twin engine as the Interceptor 650, producing approximately 47 horsepower and 57 Nm of torque. It is also being said that the torque might be a little higher than the Interceptor 650. However, it features a two-into-one exhaust system, which not only gives it a distinct look but also contributes to a slight weight reduction. The bike is equipped with a 6-speed gearbox, ensuring smooth and efficient power delivery.
Suspension and Wheels
One of the standout features of the Bear 650 is its upgraded suspension setup. The front suspension now includes Showa upside-down forks, providing better handling and stability on rough terrains. The rear suspension has been enhanced with dual shock absorbers, offering increased travel and improved comfort. The bike also features spoked wheels with dual-purpose MRF Nylorex block pattern tyres, making it suitable for both on-road and off-road adventures.
Ergonomics and Comfort
The Bear 650 boasts a new wide handlebar and revised foot peg positions, enhancing rider comfort and control. The seat height has been increased to 830mm, making it the tallest among the 650cc models, and the seat design is kicked up slightly at the rear for a more scrambler-like stance. The bike also features a circular TFT display with in-built navigation, adding to its modern appeal.
Lighting and Styling
True to its scrambler style, the Bear 650 comes with LED headlamps, indicators, and a circular LED tail lamp. The bodywork is simple yet stylish, with a new side panel design contributing to its rugged look. The bike is available in five different colors, adding to its versatility and appeal.
Pricing and Availability
The Bear 650 is expected to be priced between INR 3,35,000 and INR 3,40,000, and it will be available in dealerships starting November 2024. The launch event is scheduled for November 5, 2024, where Royal Enfield will provide more details about the bike and its features.
