Royal Enfield launches Interceptor 650 for INR 2.34 lakh

Royal Enfield has officially launched the new Interceptor 650 motorcycle in India at prices starting from INR 2.34 lakh ex-showroom. This results in a on-road price tag of INR 2,99,847. That is fantastic pricing from Royal Enfield, and the sales are surely going to reflect that. The chrome variant of the Interceptor 650 has been priced higher by quite some margin, and costs INR 2.54 lakh ex-showroom. So that makes for a premium of INR 20,000 over the standard variant.

If we should give you a break up of the costs, the Interceptor has the ex-showroom price ranging between INR 2.35 – 2.54 lakh, RTO chargers of nearly INR 50,000 and Insurance costing INR 19,000 roughly.

The Interceptor 650 has been made available in 6 colour options – Mark Three, Glitter & Dust, Orange Crush, Ravishing Red, Silver Spectre and Baker Express.

Powering the bike is a 648cc, parallel-twin, air-oil cooler, single OHC, 4-stroke motor producing 47 BHP of power @ 7250 RPM and 52 Nm of torque @ 5250 RPM matched to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike comes with ABS as standard, slipper assist clutch, fuel-injection and digital spark ignition.

The Interceptor 650 weighs 202 kg without fuel, so it is a heavy motorcycle and has a ground clearance of 174mm with a fuel tank capacity of 13.7L. The bike makes use of 41mm telescopic front forks and twin coil-over shock absorbers with 88mm travel at the rear.
