Chinese motorcycle manufacturer CFMoto is planning a re-launch in the Indian market. The first motorcycle to debut will be the 450MT adventure bike. Read more details below.

CFMoto 450MT launch confirmed – what to expect?
As per the online rumours, CFMoto is planning to re-enter the Indian motorcycle market by the middle of this year. The Chinese two-wheeler brand has been absent from the Indian market since 2019. The brief life of the brand in the Indian market was not well-lived due to poor sales.
However, the brand has grown to a much bigger level now and it is internationally acclaimed for making powerful and budget-friendly motorcycles. One such product is its 450MT adventure bike, which is selling like hotcakes in the Latin American and European markets. The 450MT is a punch-packed motorcycle that rivals the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 globally.
Speaking of the 450MT, it is a typical adventure bike that features an upright position for riding and has the hardcore specs to beat the off-road trails. Powering the bike is a 450cc parallel-twin liquid-cooled engine that generates 44 bhp and 44 Nm of peak power and torque outputs. It comes mated to a 6-speed transmission that has additional features like a slipper-assist clutch and ride-by-wire technology.
The online rumours further suggest that CFMoto will bring its mid-weight category bikes including the 700MT adventure motorcycle. Previously, the brand was operating in India via AMW group. However, the re-entry of CFMoto will be now with a new partner; which is yet to be finalized and announced.
Considering that CFMoto is known for its aggressive pricing, we assume that the 450MT can be positioned between Rs 3.5-4 lakh (ex-showroom). Additionally, the upcoming product lineup will be sold as CKD units, thus, keeping the cost in control.

Our verdict
CFMoto motorcycles, especially the 450MT, look promising. The Indian mid-weight motorcycle category, including adventure bikes, has outgrown the rest of the niches. Therefore, CFMoto has a better chance than ever to curate a positive brand image and fetch good sales numbers in India.
