Royal Enfield could be working on a new version of the Himalayan 450. The new Himalayan 450 is likely to come with a more off-road friendly version which could be called Rally. The Himalayan 450 Rally is likely to be currently under development with the help of Indian off-road and enduro motorcycle racer CS. Santosh. A few images of the motorcycle also reveal some exciting details of the upcoming motorcycle.
What to Expect?
According to reports, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Rally is likely to come with aftermarket parts which will help the motorcycle enhance its off-road capabilities. These parts are likely to include adjustable front fork suspension as well as a new handlebar. Reports also reveal that the triple clamp on the Himalayan 450 Rally is likely to be new and reinforced to deal with the stresses of off-road riding.
Built for Rally Racing?
In addition to this, the Himalayan 450 Rally is also likely to come with a tall rally style tower upfront with digital roadbook to help navigate through rally stages. In addition to this, the Himalayan 450 Rally is also likely to come with reworked switchgear specific to off-road use. Reports also reveal that the Himalayan 450 Rally comes with new rear cowling and may get an auxiliary fuel tank to hold extra fuel for those long rally stages, especially for the Empty Quarter which is a traditional three-day marathon stage at the Dakar Rally.
The Himalayan 450 Rally is also likely to come with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoke wheels with tube type tyres shod in off-road spec knobby tyres. In addition to this, the Himalayan 450 Rally is also likely to come with the same engine but gets a new exhaust. This also leads us to believe that the mapping on the engine is likely to have been retuned to add more power and torque.
When Will it be Launched?
While the RE Himalayan 450 Rally is not likely to be sold to the public, we think that some of the parts are likely to be retailed as add-ons to the currently Himalayan 450. Also, reports reveal that the new Himalayan 450 Rally is likely to make its debut at the upcoming Baja Rally this year with CS Santosh at the helm of one of the bikes.
