The year 2024 is set to witness the launch of the much-anticipated Royal Enfield Classic 650. This motorcycle, which has been spotted testing mulitple times, is expected to make a significant impact in the cruiser bike segment.
Design and Inspiration
The Classic 650 takes its design inspiration from the Classic 350. The Classic brand, popular in both India and the international market, has a global reach that makes the Classic 650 a highly anticipated model1. The Classic 650 is essentially the bigger version of the Classic 350, based on its 650cc platform2.
The Classic 650 will be powered by the same 648cc, parallel-twin engine used for the Super Meteor, Shotgun, Interceptor, and Continental GT12. This engine dishes out 47 bhp and 52 Nm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. The engine is expected to have a slightly relaxed tuning.
Features and Specifications
The Classic 650 is expected to come with an LED headlight, bulb indicators, and a dual-pod console1. Its hardware comprises telescopic front forks, dual rear springs, a single disc at both ends, and dual-channel ABS. These are mounted on spoke wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres.
Classic 650 Pricing and Availability
The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is expected to launch in June 2024. The asking price could be around INR 3.25 to 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Classic 650 will be positioned between the Interceptor and the Continental GT.
