River Indie Vs. Ola S1 Pro – Electric Scooter Comparison

Bangalore-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer, River, has brought in its new electric scooter. Today in this comparison post we pit it against the popular Ola S1 Scooter.

River Indie vs Ola S1 Pro: Engine Performance, Battery Range, and Charging Time

River gets a 6.7kW (9bhp) motor. This motor makes 26 Nm of torque and works with an IP67-certified 4kWh Li-ion battery pack. River claims a true range of 120km per charge and a top speed of 90kmph. The 0-40kmph acceleration comes in at 3.9 seconds. In terms of charging the battery pack gets charged up to 80 per cent in five hours with the standard charger. There’s a provision for fast charging available for this electric scooter. The vehicle and battery pack comes with a five-year/50,000km warranty.

The Ola S1 Pro comes with a 3.97 kWh battery pack. With this, Ola S1 Pro gets a claimed ARAI-certified range of 181 km. The performance is adequate and riders also get three riding modes. Charging time from 0 to 100 per cent using the standard power outlet is around 6 hours 30 minutes. In terms of outright performance, 0 to 40 kmph comes in at 2.9 seconds, this is a good 1 second faster than the River Indie.

River Indie vs Ola S1 Pro: Features and Safety

In terms of features, it gets a long list. The key highlights include LED headlights with DRL, LED taillight, LED turn indicators, hazard light, boot light, and a six-inch digital display. Meanwhile, in terms of safety, the River Indie gets a combined braking system, a side-stand motor cut-off function, two USB ports, a reverse parking assist, three ride modes (Eco, Ride, and Rush), and an IP67 rating for the motor and controller. In terms of storage as well, River Indie scores pretty high. The storage options include 43-litre under-seat storage, a 12-litre glove box, a bag hook, pannier stays, and accessory mounts.

Ola S1 Pro too comes equipped with a long list of features. This includes Geo-Fencing, Cruise Control, Anti-Theft System, GPS/Wifi Connectivity, Reverse Mode, Proximity Lock, and receiving calls/texts via Bluetooth.

River Indie vs Ola S1 Pro: Colours And Price Difference

Customers can have the River Indie in three colour shade options. These are Monsoon Blue, Summer Red, and Spring Yellow.

For Ola S1 customers, there are numerous colour options to choose from. The top highlighting ones include Liquid Silver, Millennial Pink, Anthracite Grey, Midnight Blue and Matte Black.

The River Indie electric scooter currently retails at an ex-showroom price of  INR 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom, Bangalore).

On the other hand, the Ola S1 Pro comes with a price tag of INR 1.29 lakh (ex-showroom, Bangalore).
