EV Policy In Gujarat

Gujarat state government’s new EV policy is attracting a host of EV makers and sellers in the state. Under this, the state government provides a subsidy of up to INR 20,000 for the two-wheeler category. The amount brings down the costs significantly, thus attracting a wide range of audiences. Furthermore, the government has also exempted e-vehicles registered in Gujarat RTOs from paying the registration fees. Gujarat is doing it all to help accelerate ecosystem development and ensure greater comfort for EV buyers.

There is a growing number of EVs in the market. Hence, we can expect a dip in carbon footprint, which is a positive aspect for the environment. Policies like the FAME India scheme and Niti Aayong’s ‘battery swapping’ policy are also helping greatly to enhance the EV segment in India. In future years, it is crucial to set up a viable charging infrastructure. A host of charging companies have already made their presence in the country and started implementing their infrastructure.
