Repsol Honda Team all set for Silverstone MotoGP race

Repsol Honda Team is gearing up to head to the historic Silverstone circuit. The team is all set to compete in the Round 12 of the MotoGP World Championship. The following weekend will mark the beginning of the British Grand Prix, which the team renounced in the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In the MotoGP calendar this season, the Silverstone circuit is the longest race track with 5.9 kilometres. The racetrack features a fast and flowing layout for the MotoGP World Championship riders.

Marc Marquez’s Record Around the Silverstone Circuit

The Honda Repsol Team rider Marc Marquez has a respectable record at Silverstone in the premier class. From four finishes, Marc Marquez has one win and two additional podiums. In 2019, MotoGP fans witnessed an exceptional battle between Marc Marquez and Alex Rins. The team is now gearing up the Honda RC213V MotoGP race bike to capitalize on all the opportunities at Silverstone. In Austria, Marc Marquez proved that the rider and the machine had the potential for victory in wet and dry conditions.

Pol Espargaro Looking For Further Improvements

Pol Espargaro had a pair of challenging races in Austria with his Honda RC213V. The Repsol Honda Team garage and Pol Espargaro are looking to make further improvements on the track in the UK. Pol Espargaro has the best place finish of sixth place and taken points in all premier class editions of the British Grand Prix. Pol Espargaro claimed his debut pole position in the Moto2 class at the Silverstone track back in 2012.

At the end of the Second World War, Britain was left with many Airfields but no major racetracks. The Royal Automobile Club on 2nd October 1948 hosted the first British Grand Prix at Silverstone, which was a former airbase. More than 100,000 people turned up for the British Grand Prix, beginning a new chapter in racing history.

On 27th August, 09:55 Local Time on Friday, the Premier Class action return on the legendary Silverstone racetrack. The 20-lap race starts on 29th August at 13:00 Local Time.
