Nissan MPV – New Maruti Ertiga rival?

In a recent event in Japan, Nissan revealed its future plans for the Indian market. These plans include multiple new product launches, which will begin with the introduction of a new three-row MPV.

As the company is already in a pact with Renault, it has decided to launch an affordable yet comfortable three-row MPV based on the Renault Triber.

The Triber itself is currently the most affordable three-row MPV in India. With Nissan’s offering, the MPV segment will grow even further.

Nissan is planning to launch the new MPV within the Financial Year 2025 (FY25) in India.

The partial design visible in the teaser image shows identical cues to the Triber, like the bonnet, side fenders, and overall front fascia.

It will share the powertrain and hardware with the Triber itself. This means that we can expect the reliable 1.0-litre petrol engine and the option of a retrofit CNG kit as well for the upcoming MPV.

Other crucial details like the complete design, cabin changes and features, and the specifications are yet to be revealed.

Alongside the new three-row MPV, Nissan has also revealed a new C-SUV that will be based on the 2025 Renault Duster. It will launch in 2026, after the debut of the MPV.
