Renault takes over Nissan India’s manufacturing, buys 51% stake

Nissan India’s manufacturing unit has been officially taken over by the Renault Group, as the French brand bought the 51% stake. Read the complete details of this new strategy change below.

Nissan India – Renault new strategy change details

As per the latest press release shared by the Japanese carmaker Nissan, its 51 per cent stakes in the Renault Nissan Automotive India Pvt. Ltd. (RNAIPL) have been bought by the French carmaker Renault.

So, what does it mean? With the complete takeover, Renault will now handle the manufacturing unit of the RNAIPL. Hence, the complete management and manufacturing process of the Nissan cars will be handled by Renault from now on.

Therefore, the upcoming Nissan Magnite will be made by Renault. In fact, the export models for Nissan will also be handled by Renault from now on.

Earlier, Nissan had a 51 per cent stake, while Renault had 49 per cent stake in the joint manufacturing venture. Meanwhile, Nissan has stated that it will continue serving the Indian market with its current product lineup and increase its market coverage further.

Meanwhile, the jointly established Technology and Business Centre India will continue with a 51 per cent stake of Renault and a 49 per cent stake of Nissan.

With the new operational strategy change, both manufacturers look forward to enhancing their domestic as well as global presence and profits.
