Written by Parichay Malvankar

The Renault Lodgy MPV will be launched in India by or before mid-2015. The spyshots which have emerged on the internet now give us a brief overview of whats inside.

Images reveal that the interiors are similar to the European model which is sold under the Dacia brand. Dual tone interiors, three-spoke steering wheel like the Duster with audio / cruise controls, three-pot instrument cluster with chrome inserts, circular AC vents, three front facing rows of seats and a centre armrest in the second row with cupholders. Interiors look a little more roomy than the Maruti Ertiga and Honda Mobilio.

The Lodgy measures 4,498mm in length, 1,751mm in width and 1,695mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,810mm.

The MPV is based on the MO platform, which is derived from the BO platform underpinning the Duster. In India, Renault will most probably plonk the tried and tested workhorse, the 1.5L K9K diesel motor. This engine will be offered in the  85 PS / 110 PS mated to a 5-speed / 6-speed gearbox.

Pricing is expected to be at par with competitors, which is in the range of Rs. 7 – 10 lakh (ex-showroom).
