Renault Kiger compact-SUV global debut in India on January 28, 2021

French car manufacturer, Groupe Renault has announced that the brand will be introducing the much-anticipated Crossover the Renault Kiger SUV in the Indian market. The Renault Kiger was virtually showcased in the concept form and its name revealed in the recent past. The brand claims to ‘revolutionalise’ the B-SUV segment with the new Renault Kiger which has been slated to make its debut on 28 January 2021. 

Furthermore, the brand has also announced that the Renault Kiger will be first launched in the Indian market followed by other international markets. The Renault Kiger will be built on the CMFA+ platform and boasts to offer the best-in-class design and styling. The brand has also revealed that the Kiger will be powered by an all-new turbocharged petrol engine that claims to offer exciting driving dynamics. 

In terms of design, the concept Renault Kiger has already made a strong impression in public. The brand has revealed that the Kiger is the result of the collaboration with the Corporate design teams in France and the Renault India design. The car is also said to come with a plethora of features on the outside as well as the inside. 

The Renault Kiger will be launched in the B-SUV segment which accounts for more than 50% of vehicles in terms of sales. The brand expects that the Kiger will be a key vehicle that will help the brand grow to new heights in the country, similar to the Duster, Kwid and Triber brands. 

The Renault Kiger will be manufactured at the brand’s Oragadam manufacturing facility in Chennai, which has an installed capacity of 480,000 units per annum. In the Indian market, Renault also has more than 415 sales and 475 service touchpoints including 200+ Workshop On Wheels across the country. 

The Renault Kiger is expected to be priced around the starting price of INR 5 lakh ex-showroom.
