Renault continues testing Zoe EV hatchback in India

The Indian market is slowly developing the electric ecosystem that is encouraging car manufacturers to launch their EV products here. Manufacturers such as Tata, Mahindra, MG Motors and Hyundai have already launched their fully electric vehicles in the Indian market with a fair amount of sales. Renault has also shown interest in the EV space and the brand showcased two such vehicles at the Auto Expo 2020, on was the Kwid EV based on the brand’s popular entry-level hatchback and the other was the Renault Zoe. 

The Renault Zoe is already on sale in the international market, but new images of the 100% electric car have emerged on the internet leading us to believe that the brand could launch the long-range EV here in India. The car spotted is said to be undergoing road test in the southern states of India and was seen in a shade of white. In the international market, the Renault Zoe comes with a 52 kWh battery capacity offering a range of up to 395 km on a single charge. The battery pack is mated to a 134 HP electric motor that makes 245 Nm of torque powering the front wheels. The Renault Zoe can be charged using a 7kW wall box charger that takes 9 hours and 25 minutes to replenish the battery. The EV also comes with fast charging capabilities. 

In terms of size, the Zoe is 4087mm in length, 1562mm in height, 1787mm in width and comes with a wheelbase of 2588mm. The Renault Zoe also comes with features such as projector headlamps, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, digital instruments cluster, a large centrally mounted touchscreen, heated steering wheel, heated seats, all-around parking sensors, hands-free parking, blind spot cameras, front and rear cameras, wireless smartphone charging etc. 

As of now no details on the launch are available yet, but the brand is likely to introduce the Kwid EV before it plans to bring the Zoe.
