RedMoto opens bookings for electric scooters & motorcycles in India

RedMoto XEV has announced that the brand commenced bookings on the range of electric vehicles in India. The Chandigarh-based electric mobility solutions company will bring three products to the Indian market. The range includes two electric scooters and one electric motorcycle. The pre-bookings on the range of EVs start today from the brand’s official website. RedMoto XEV will upload the link for the pre-bookings soon.

Furthermore, the brand has announced that the amount for the pre-booking is set to as low as INR 4,999. In addition to this, the brand will only accept a limited number of bookings for the time being and expect further slots to open in the near future. The brand also revealed that the tentative date of delivery would be three months from the booking date.

In addition to this, RedMoto XEV plans to deliver the first lot of EVs on 2nd November 2021, which coincides with Dhanteras. The brand reveals that only the first few lucky entries will have the vehicle by Dhanteras. But the waiting period for the R5X motorcycle is a bit longer. The brand announced that RedMoto would deliver the electric motorcycle by 1st January 2022. RedMoto XEV also revealed the price of the R5X electric motorcycle, which will be around INR 89,999 ex-showroom. The updated prices will go live on the website. 

RedMoto XEV Electric Scooter & Motorcycle – Powertrain

Powering the R1X electric scooter and the R3X electric scooter will be a 250kW nominal and 1000kW peak electric motor. The electric motor comes with 48V electric architecture with BLDC Hub mounted motor. The motor draws power from a Lead Acid or Lithium-ion portable battery pack. Both scooters come with 75 km of range on a single charge and take 4-5 hours of charging time. The R5X motorcycle also comes with the same electric powertrain and range but only the lithium-ion battery pack option.
