Jaguar Land Rover India has launched the new Range Rover Sport SVR in the Indian market. The SVR (Special Vehicles Operation) model comes with a price tag of INR 2.17 Crore ex-showroom India. The performance-oriented SUV will come with a supercharged V8 engine and expand Jaguar Range Rover’s SVR vehicle line-up.
Range Rover Sport SVR – Engine Specifications
Powering the Range Rover Sport SVR is a 5.-litre V8 petrol engine with a supercharger. The engine produces 567 Bhp of power and 700 Nm of torque. Jaguar Land Rover claims that the SUV can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 4.5 seconds. The engine comes with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Range Rover Sport SVR – Special Vehicle Operations
The brand boasts that Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations, designs, develops and engineers the luxury performance SUV. The Range Rover Sport SVR is also hand-finished in Coventry, UK. The performance of the SUV comes from the lightweight and robust all-aluminium architecture. The brand has specifically tuned the chassis with bespoke enhancements for added dynamic handling. The suspension is also adjusted to ensure a controlled pitch under heavy acceleration and braking. In addition to this, the damping hardware offers agile turn-in, mid-corner grip and control over the body.
Range Rover Sport SVR – Design Highlights
The Range Rover Sport SVR features a new front apron for the added thermodynamic requirements of the large engine. The brand has also incorporated new air ducts to aid brake cooling and add aerodynamic performance to the vehicle. The improved channelling of the air to cool the braking components ensure reduced brake fading even at high speeds. The SUV also comes with an SVR badging on the tail and body-coloured detailing that helps distinguish the SVR from the standard.
Range Rover Sport SVR – Interior Highlights
The Range Rover Sport SVR comes with lightweight SVR Performance seats with a slim and athletic silhouette. But the brand claims that the sporty seats also provide excellent comfort on long distances. The seats on the SVR comes with a high-quality perforated Windsor leather finish, and the seatbacks come with a black satin finish with an embossed SVR logo on the headrests. The SUV also gets a 19-speaker Meridian Surround Sound System, fully digital instruments cluster, multifunctional steering wheel, twin screens on the centre console – one for the infotainment and another for the climate control, carbon-fibre trim on the steering, doors and transmission tunnel and a chunky gear shift lever.
