Jaguar Land Rover India have launched the new Range Rover Evoque convertible in India at prices starting from INR 69.53 lakh, ex-showroom. This is the first luxury convertible SUV in our market, and comes in a 2-door version only. The new Range Rover Evoque Convertible is available in HSE Dynamic variant.
Powering this drop top SUV is a 2.0L Si4 Ingenium petrol motor. This block produces 240 HP of power and 340 Nm of torque and a made a debut in our market with the Velar. The engine is matched to a 9-speed automatic gearbox powering all four wheels and the Range Rover Evoque Convertible claims a 0-100 kmph time of 8.1 seconds with a top speed of 217 kmph.
The top on this model is a fabric soft top, and not a hard top. This makes use of a Z-folding system which sits well with the rear body work along with allowing space for 5 occupants. This roof can be operated at speeds up to 48 kmph and can be folded down in 20 seconds. The brand claims that the roof comes with an acoustic liner to reduce road noise. One can also opt for optional wind deflectors which will sit behind the seats to reduce air draft.
In case of a rollover situation, Range Rover has equipped the Evoque Convertible with a pop-up roll-bay system which will deploy in times of danger.
