Bajaj has started full-scale production of the Pulsar SS200, which is codenamed as the K8.

Launch of the Pulsar SS200 is now inching closer and can happen in the coming month to cash-in on the festive season sentiment. The bike will sport a 199.5cc, 4-stroke, SOHC, liquid-cooled, single cylinder petrol motor which will produce 23.52 PS of power @ 9,500 RPM and 18.3 Nm of torque @ 8,000 RPM. However, the bike is rumoured to be launched with a fuel injector motor which can change these power and torque figures marginally. Additional weight of the fairing might result in a drop in 0-60 acceleration stint my a few hundredths of a second.

Noticeable styling features include a full fairing, dual projector headlamp setup, short exhaust muffler replacing the underbelly exhaust, clip-on handlebars, split seats, LED tail lamps, front and rear disc brakes. Bajaj is most likely to offer ABS as an option on the SS200. Expect the bike to be priced at a premium of Rs. 20,000 over the Pulsar 200NS.

Among other news, the Pulsar SS400 and CS400 has been pushed forward. Bajaj is currently focusing only on the 200cc offering and the bigger two will be pushed to the next year.
