Bookings open for BS6 Honda Civic Diesel, launch in July 2020

Honda Cars India Limited (HCIL) has commenced pre-launch booking on the Honda Civic BS6 Diesel which will go on sale from July 2020. The 10th generation Honda Civic can be booked using the brand’s contactless digital sales platform, ‘Honda from Home’ that allows the customer to book the desired Honda car from the safety and convenience of their home in five easy steps. 

The 10th generation Honda Civic currently available in the Indian market in three trim variants – V, VX, ZX, powered by a petrol engine which was BS6 emissions-compliant from the day it was launched in March 2019. The Honda Civic petrol is powered by a BS6 compliant 1.8-litre four-cylinder 16-valve SOHC i-VTEC engine that produces 141 PS of power and 174 Nm of torque matched to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) automatic gearbox. The BS6 diesel variant is powered by a 1.6-litre i-DTEC turbo-diesel engine that produces close to 120 PS of power and 300 Nm of torque paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. 

On the exteriors, the Honda Civic features a signature chrome wing grille, multi-LED headlamps with integrated daytime running lamps, chrome inserts on the front apron, wide air dam, a sharp bumper lip, rounded LED fog lamps, a flat bonnet with raised ridges, flared rounded wheel arches, a character line on the shoulder, 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, marker lamps integrated into the wheel arches, a shark-fin antenna, electric sunroof and C-shaped LED tail lamps.

On the interiors, the Honda Civic features a multilayered dashboard with contoured seats with 8-way powered driver seat, multifunction steering wheel, 17.7-cm digital TFT colour instruments console with multiple functions, a centrally mounted 17.7-cm touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, rotary dials for the climate control, rear AC vents, a long armrest on the centre console, auto-dimming IRVM, push-button engine start and remote engine start. 

The Honda Civic has also received a full 5-star rating at the ASEAN NCAP for enhanced collision safety performance. The car also features safety features such as an electric parking brake with auto hold function, vehicle stability assists, agile handling assist, hill start assist, ABS with EBD and brake assist, a multi-angle rearview camera, ISOFIX seats, emergency stop signal etc.
