Porsche India has officially begun the deliveries of its Taycan. Porsche Center Delhi-NCR delivered India’s first-ever Taycan in the striking Green Mamba Metallic colour. Further adorning the car are the interiors that get a Club Leather Olea in Truffle Brown treatment. Porsche Taycan had officially made its entry to India back in November last year. Priced starting at INR 1.50 Crore (ex-showroom), the car gets an array of features and equipment to justify the same.

Porsche Taycan – A Brief Overview

Exteriors

With the rising demand for EVs in the automobile market, even Porsche could not resist itself in not joining the bandwagon. The carmaker is quite well known for its performance-oriented sports cars and the way they drive. But, now, to replicate the same in an EV is quite a challenge.

Taycan is the first-ever Porsche that is fully electric and shares its architecture with its sibling from Audi, i.e. the e-Tron GT. Just like the Panamera, Taycan’s overall design takes its inspiration from the 2015 Mission E concept car. The front looks are dominated by the LED Matrix headlamp neatly integrated with slim air-flow ducts. In the rear, the car features a full-length LED light bar with integrated LED tail lights, thus giving a very clean look.

Interiors

On the inside, this Porsche feels pretty much up to today’s standard. The main attraction is the four different screens at the front with touch-screen buttons. This makes the car look pretty neat and sleek, thus matching the exterior design language. The other key features include adaptive air suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, and a Bose sound system. When compared to the Panamera, Taycan gets more legroom for the rear-seat passengers, thanks to the floor-mounted battery packs.

Powertrain

Customers get two drivetrains to choose from, RWD for the entry-level trim, meanwhile all other trims are AWD. In terms of engine, the standard Taycan makes 408 PS, whereas the 4S trim with the dual-motor setup produces 530 PS. For the turbo version, the performance figure reads as 680 PS when its is used in the overboost launch-control setting.
