Written by Nizam Shaikh

Porsche is all set to launch the Macan soon in India. The new facelift model will be launched next month and is expected to get an attractive price tag likely to be around INR 69.9 lakh ex-showroom. With this price, Porsche will be able to target a wider audience in India.

The facelift model gets LED headlights with four-point LED daytime running lights and an LED strip that joins the either ends of the taillights which has the ‘Porsche’ logo in bold letters. The tail lights also get a signature four-point brake light. The bumpers are slightly redesigned and has large air intakes on the front and four exhaust pipe finishers at the back with a diffuser effect on the rear. The car gets big muscular flanks along with a coupe-like sloping roofline, recollective of the 911 sports car.

On the interior, the Macan gets sporty front seats which allow the driver to be seated in a commanding position and the arrangement of the controls give the driver of the car a cockpit effect. The distance between the controls – multifunction steering wheel, the gear selector and the main vehicle controls on the centre console are kept very short which shows its sporty characteristics. The centre console is filled with the large 10.9-inch high definition touchscreen infotainment system with a customizable start screen. And on top of the dashboard is an analogue clock which gives it a very Porsche like feel.

The Porsche Macan entry-level model is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that produces 252 HP of power and 370 Nm of torque. Whereas, the more powerful new Macan S gets a 3.0-litre, V6-cylinder petrol engine that produces 354 HP of power and 480 Nm of torque mated to a 7-speed automatic gearbox with steering mounted paddle shifters. The drivetrain has an electronically controlled all-wheel-drive layout with a Porsche traction management system and a map-controlled multi-plate clutch with traction-slip control and an automatic limited-slip differential.

The Porsche Macan is expected to be offered in four paint options which are as follows:-

  • Mamba Green Metallic
  • Miami Blue
  • Dolomite Silver Metallic
  • Crayon

Also, an all-electric version of the second-generation Macan is expected to make its debut in 2021.
