Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Polestar 2 is the latest addition to the Polestar lineup of products. When compared to Polestar 1, Polestar 2 aims to target a wide range of audience. To achieve this, Polestar will offer two new versions to make it more appealing to the customers. Last year, the Polestar 2 was launched in four-wheel-drive and dual motor form. However, this year, Polestar is offering a single motor with a front-wheel-drive powertrain.

Polestar 2 Gets New Powertrain and Battery Options

The single-motor Polestar 2 retains the same 78 kWh battery, the one from the dual-motor configuration. The power output from the single motor is 231 HP and the EPA-estimated driving range is around 260 miles under a single charge. The dual-motor configuration comes with 204 HP and the power is channelled to all four wheels. The EPA-estimated range is around 230 miles for the dual-motor trim.

Various Packages On Offer

Polestar is offering a total of 3 packages with the Polestar 2 – Plus, Pilot and Performance. The Plus trim adds premium features like a panoramic roof, heated seats, WeaveTech vegan interiors materials and a notable heat pump. Polestar claims that the heat pump can increase the driving range by 10 per cent in some conditions. The tech is still under development and with OTA updates, the system will become more effective.

The Pilot Pack features a host of driver-related aids like Pixel LED headlights, a 360-degree surround-view camera, blind-spot monitoring and cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control and more. The Performance Pack, as the name suggests improves the performance of the car by adding adjustable suspension, 20-inch alloy wheels, Brembo with low-drag callipers, performance brakes and more. This Performance Pack is only available with the dual-motor trim.

Price And Other Details

As of now, there is no official revelation on the pricing of the electric vehicle from Polestar. But, it is certain that the new single-motor and the base trim of the dual-motor will sit beneath the current on-sale Polestar 2 which starts at USD 59,900.
