PM Narendra Modi now rides in a Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard

Social media images suggest that Indian Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi has added the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard to his fleet. Acting as the ultimate security vehicle, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard offers the highest levels of protection, even for civilian buyers. As the ultra-luxury partner of Mercedes-Benz, German manufacturer Maybach has based the S650 Guard on the previous-gen S-class saloon.

Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard: Details 

The body of the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard has been rated to offer VR 10 levels of occupant protection. For this reason, the S650 Guard sports a reinforced body shell with glass housing that can withstand armour-piercing bullets. The bodywork has also been tested to withstand an explosive force of up to 15 Kg of TNT from 2 meters.

Mercedes-Maybach has also equipped the S650 Guard with a self-healing fuel tank and allows further customization for other safety features. Buyers can include an automatic fire suppression system, external communication system, emergency fresh air system, etc., to suit their needs. It’s almost guaranteed that the Prime Minister’s S650 Guard has been fitted with all the safety modifications for added security.

Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard: Powertrain & Features 

For the interior, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Guard features the usual S-class opulent features such as powered rear seats. Additionally, the luxury saloon features an increased wheelbase, dual rear screens for entertainment, and head restraints for the rear seats. The interior of the Mercedes-Maybach S650 also features a mini-fridge with the capacity to hold a champagne bottle.

The laminated and darkened windows with powered sun shades provide the best-in-class privacy and security from prying eyes. Mercedes-Maybach has equipped the S650 Guard with a 6.0-litre, twin-turbo V12 engine that produces 630 PS and 1000 Nm. The German automaker recently announced the S-Class Guard for the international markets and planned to make a new Maybach Guard.

During the 2nd week of December, Mercedes-Benz released a teaser image for its all-new, fully-electric Vision EQXX concept car. The automaker has announced that it will fully reveal the car on January 3rd, 2022, via its ‘Mercedes me’ platform. With the new Vision EQXX electric concept, Mercedes-Benz aims to showcase its software-defined research prototype and overall efficiency.
