Omega Seiki Mobility & EVR Motors to manufacture electric motors in India

Written by Akhil Dalvi

Omega Seiki Mobility has announced its partnership with Israeli start-up EVR Motors to manufacture and design electric motors in India. Based on the unique patented topology TSRF (Trapezoidal Stator Radial Flux), the electric motor will help transform the EV segment. Additionally, OSM can adapt the new lightweight, compact electric motor to a wide range of vehicles across the country. Omega Seiki Mobility also states that it will use the new motor across its current portfolio of future EVs.

OSM & EVR Motors: New Electric Motor Details

The new motor from the two companies is half the size of conventional motors, making it the smallest in its class. Despite its size that can fit into an average-sized human palm, the new motor does not compromise on output. The companies also state that the new motor weighs considerably less than conventional Radial Flux Permanent Magnet (RFPM) motors. Thanks to the newly-patented TSRF motor, OSM’s range of EVs will benefit from superior power and uniform torque delivery.

Along with reducing production costs, OSM can modify the electric motor to conform with most mobility and industrial applications. These applications can range from two-wheelers, three-wheelers, buses, and trucks as it supports various power and torque outputs. Thanks to its voltage ranging from 48V-800V, the electric motor can suit itself for producing different power levels to achieve speeds. OSM states that its alliance with EVR Motors will allow them to add value while integrating their products for efficiency.

OSM & EVR Motors: Electric Motor Manufacturing & Future Plans

OSM will manufacture the new electric motor at its facility in Faridabad and its group company facility in Pune. For the motor’s localization, EVR Motors will bring in their years of experience and expertise whilst training with OSM’s manufacturing competence. OSM also stated that it will ensure to test and develop the TSRF motor to tackle typical Indian driving conditions.

Omega Seiki Mobility has also been expanding its product lineup and manufacturing footprint rapidly across the country. It also claims to be the first Indian OEM to feature two, three, and four-wheelers throughout its portfolio. With large-scale manufacturing facilities across the Delhi NCR region, OSM aims to expand itself towards Pune, Maharashtra.
