Ola S1 Pro electric scooter price hiked by INR 10,000

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

Ola Electric has hiked the price of its top-selling S1 Pro scooter by INR 10,000. The scooter has been selling in huge numbers, and the recent spike in demand for electric scooters is helping the cause. Despite some negative reviews about the scooters, Ola S1 Pro remains a top choice for customers. In fact, it recently became the highest-selling electric scooter in the country. However, the S1 variant’s production is on a temporary halt. Ola seems to prioritise the S1 Pro first and revamp its production to meet the rising demand.

What Is The Cost Now?

After the hike of INR 10,000, the S1 Pro now costs INR 1,39,000 (ex-showroom), up from INR 1.29 lakh previously. Interestingly the hike in price is also applicable to the customers who had booked the scooter. On top of this, customers can avail subsidies and discounts as mandated by their respective state governments. Mr Bhasvish Aggarwal recently announced that the buying window for the scooter will reopen starting this weekend. Those who have already completed the booking will get the early access privilege.

MoveOS 2 To Arrive Soon

As per the latest reports, Ola will soon send an OTA update, thus enabling the new MoveOS. With this, Ola promises better navigation and some added features. There’s also a new Eco riding mode that will increase the riding range further. Currently, it is in the Beta version, and the company will roll it out to customers very soon.

Ola To Recall A Batch Of S1 Pro

After the recent fire incident, Ola has decided to recall a specific batch of scooters. As part of this recall, a total of 1,440 S1 Pro scooters will make their way back to the manufacturing facility, wherein the team will thoroughly check and reassure the fix is put in place. Although Ola has not officially detailed the reason for the mishap, we assume it might be something with the thermal management of batteries, as it is the most common area where electric scooters go wrong.
