Ola S1 could get S1 Pro hardware, but customers need to pay extra

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

There’s some exciting news coming in for Ola customers. As per reports, customers who have purchased an Ola S1 will receive a scooter with all the features offered with the S1 Pro. But there’s a slight catch to this. To enable all the features, the buyer will have to pay an additional amount of INR 30,000. After spending the amount, the Ola S1 scooter will receive a software update.

And with this, the scooter will be upgraded with a higher range, top speed and faster charging. Alongside this, the scooter will also get the feature of cruise control, Hyper Mode and hill-hold assist. So, in a nutshell, you can convert your S1 to S1 Pro by paying an additional amount of INR 30,000. So from now, Ola will only manufacture the S1 Pro models and sell the S1 as a restricted version. And this also makes sense from a manufacturing point of view to produce only a single variant.

Ola Starts Deliveries Of S1 And S1 Pro

Recently, Mr Bhavish Aggarwal tweeted that Ola has dispatched all units of its S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters that were scheduled for delivery in December. Since the launch of the electric scooter, it has received an overwhelming response. When the bookings opened for the scooter on 15th July, Ola Electric received over 1,00,000 bookings in just 24 hours. And this made Ola S1 the most booked pre-booked scooter in the world.

With the growing demand for electric scooters in the country, Ola has timed the launch perfectly. Factors like rising fuel prices and increasing pollution levels are pushing the customers towards e-mobility. Ola is also taking giant steps to build viable and robust charging solutions. The company is in talks with various other collaborators to come with innovative charging solutions and help the customers mitigate the risk of range anxiety.
