Ola Hypercharger installation at key BPCL pumps has started, 4,000+ points by next year

One of India’s emerging EV OEMs, Ola Electric, has announced that it will install 4,000 charging points across India. CEO of Ola Electric, Bhavish Aggarwal, stated the news via his official Twitter handle, wherein he described further details. Ola Electric revealed that the charging points would be operational within 6-8 weeks after their installation is complete across India. Ola customers from various Indian cities will gain access to and use these charging points for free till June 2022.

Ola S1 and S1 Pro: Highlights

Unveiled on 15th August 2021, Ola Electric’s S1 and S1 Pro e-scooter garnered widespread attention from the media and customers. The brand priced the S1 at INR 99,999 (ex-showroom) and the S1 Pro at INR 1,29,999 (ex-showroom). Thanks to the FAME II subsidy norms from the government, the prices of the e-scooters will reduce and vary across states. In September 2021, Ola Electric announced its plans for a future factory that will actively feature a women-run workforce.

Recently, Ola Electric began its first deliveries of the S1 and S1 Pro, e-scooters for customers in Bangalore and Chennai. During the special event, 100 customers who attended with their families and friends received the highly-anticipated S1 and S1 Pro. The brand also revealed its automatic scientific approach for prioritizing deliveries to prospective customers across the country. Based on parameters such as purchase date, variant, location, colour, and other factors, the automated system will ensure its delivery.

Ola S1 and S1 Pro: Technical Specs

Utilizing a 2.9 kWh battery that powers a ‘Hyperdrive’ motor, the S1 produces 11 PS and 58 Nm. The S1 also achieves 0-60 kph in 7 seconds and sports a top speed of 90 kmph. Meanwhile, the S1 Pro uses a 3.97 kWh battery that powers the same motor with an additional Hyper mode.

In this mode, the S1 Pro achieves 0-60 kmph in 5 seconds and a top speed of 115 kph. The Ola S1 showcases a range of 121 Km per change, whereas the S1 Pro showcases 181 Km per charge. Ola Electric offers the e-scooter with various colour options and technologically-advanced features such as Cruise Control.
