Ola Electric’s CEO teases an electric car render

Written by AnantaSaranNayak

As per a recent tweet by Mr Bhavish Aggarwal, it seems like Ola will soon launch its first electric car. The rendered concept car looks quite futuristic with its highly curved front windshield. The car is of the hatchback body type with a clean and free-flowing design language. Mass market hatchbacks can never be successful with a 3-door layout. And hence, Ola’s first electric car will get a 5-door layout, similar to the other mass-market ICE hatchbacks.

One of the key features evident from the image is the use of aero wheels. However, we are not sure if they will make it to the production-spec model. Ola has not yet revealed any other official information regarding the EV. But, sources suggest that Ola could launch its first-ever electric car by late 2023.

Ola Expanding Its Business

Recently Ola Electric received its next round of investment, taking the valuation of the company to USD 5 billion. Given the growing demand for EVs in the market, almost all EV makers are growing at a pretty nice pace. Ola officially entered the EV space in December last year, with the launch of S1 and S1 Pro.

There was a lot of talking about Ola before the launch, and the EV maker was in the news for the entire 2021. With this, its mega manufacturing plant also added to the excitement of being the world largest 2-wheeler manufacturing facility. Alongside this, Ola also has plans to export its scooters to Europe, Australia, and Southeast Asia starting from 2023. All this did indicate that Ola is pretty serious in the business.

But once the scooters were delivered to the customers, Ola was in the news for all the wrong reasons. Multiple reports claimed that the customers faced a host of issues with their newly delivered Ola scooter. In addition to this, Ola electric also could not honour the delivery schedule, thus frustrating the customers even further.
