OLA Autos now with protective partition screens under ‘RideSafeIndia’ initiative

Written by Nizam Shaikh

Internet-based cab-hailing aggregate OLA has launched a new RideSafeIndia initiative under which the brand is ensuring superior vehicle standards for Ola Autos increasing its safety quotient, in view of the CoronaVirus / COVID-19 pandemic. As lockdown restrictions are relaxed people who need to use OLA Autos as a means of mobility can now feel safer as the brand has employed various techniques to ensure the safety of both the customer and their driver-partner.

The brand is focused on safety, and to physically separate the driver-partner from the customer, the brand will be fitting a protective partition screen between the driver-partner and passenger section on all OLA Autos as a layer of protection. OLA has also set new hygiene protocols across all the 120+ cities where Ola Autos operate and the brand has set up a network of over 100 fumigation centres across the country to enable mandatory fumigation for all vehicles every 48 hours.

The company has also mandated the compulsory wearing of masks for its driver-partners while serving on the platform, that can be verified through OLA’s proprietary selfie authentication technology. Needless to say, social distancing is the order of the day and while the brand is implementing various methods such as compulsory fumigation and various sanitisation practices it claims no extra charge for the same.

Because OLA cabs and Autos can pick-up the customer right from their doorsteps and the driver-partners or the customer do not need to come in proximity to crowds at demand hotspots or auto-stands, hence maintaining social distancing automatically.

The brand also employs its ‘5 layers of safety’ across all Ola Auto rides, which requires both its driver-partners and customers to compulsorily wear a protective mask, regular health checks for driver-partners and sanitization of the exposed parts of the vehicle before every ride, provision of hygiene kits consisting of masks, sanitisers and cleaning equipment to all OLA Auto drivers, fumigation of vehicles at least three times a week to ensure highest standards of hygiene and safety on all rides and a new flexible cancellation policy that enables either party to cancel the ride if the other is not adhering to the guidelines.
