Nissan will issue a recall for the Sunny sedan and Micra hatchback due to a possible defect in the airbag module. The Japanese auto major is expected to recall around 9,000 units of both these cars combined.
Nissan has sighted an issue with the airbag inflator which might pose a threat in case of an accident. Nissan dealerships will replace this faulty module free of cost and customers owning cars purchased in the mentioned period should get their cars inspected. Creating problems globally, these airbags have been manufactured by Takata Corp. Multiple manufacturers who have used airbag modules made by Takata have issued a recall globally.
Both these cars manufactured between 2008 – 2012 are subject to this recall. This recall is a part of the global recall Nissan has issued for 2.5 lakh units of the Note, Micra, Patrol and Cube.
