We all know that mechanical updates on the Nissan Terrano and Renault Duster will eventually be shared. So when the Duster AWD was launched, it was clear that Nissan will also gear up the AWD variant on the Terrano. However, while speaking to Mr. Guillaume Sicard, President of Nissan India Operations. we have been informed that this AWD version will make it to the streets only in 2015.
The Reason why it will not make it earlier is because of the way the Renault-Nissan alliance is structured.
Powering the Terrano AWD will be the same 1.5 dCi THP (K9K) diesel engine producing 110 PS of power @ 4,000 RPM and 245 Nm of torque @ 1,750 RPM. Engine is mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox with shift-on-fly 4×4 technology.
Other unique features on the AWD variant will include:
- Hill start assist
- ESP + ASR + Understeer control
- Speed sensitive auto door lock
- Impact sensing auto door unlock
- Rapid deceleration warning
- Front and rear skid plates
- Different alloy wheels
- New seat upholstery
Pricing is expected to be higher by Rs. 80,000 – 1,00,000 compared to the 4×2 variant.
