Nissan Motor India has announced the Phase 2 rollout of its CNG retrofitment kit for the New Nissan Magnite, expanding availability to six additional states. The eco-friendly upgrade is now offered at Nissan-authorised dealerships in Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Tamil Nadu2.

This expansion follows the successful Phase 1 launch in Delhi-NCR, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka, bringing the total coverage to 13 states.

Kit details and compatibility

The CNG retrofitment kit is developed and quality-assured by Motozen, a government-approved third-party vendor. Key details include:

  • Price: INR 74,999
  • Warranty: 3 years or 1 lakh km
  • Installation: At government-authorised fitment centres using homologated kits
  • Compatibility: 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine with manual transmission

Despite the addition of the kit, the Magnite retains its 336-litre boot space, one of the largest in its segment.

Customer demand and fuel efficiency

The Phase 2 rollout is driven by strong customer demand for cleaner and more affordable mobility solutions. Feedback from Phase 1 and third-party tests indicate that the CNG variant delivers better fuel economy than the standard petrol model.

Magnite’s growing footprint

The New Nissan Magnite continues to be a key growth driver for the brand. With over 20 segment-first features, 55+ safety features, and a bold design, the compact SUV is now sold in over 65 countries, including both RHD and LHD markets.

Our thoughts

This is Nissan doing the smart thing—giving customers what they actually want. The Magnite already ticks the boxes for style, space, and features. Now with CNG, it adds savings and sustainability to the mix.
