Nissan India has released its sales report for September 2021. The company sold a total of 8,716 vehicles for the given period. In the domestic market, the sales figure for September 2020 stood at 780 units, as opposed to 2,816 cars for September 2021. This translates to year-over-year growth of 261 per cent. Meanwhile, the export figure rose from 211 vehicles in September 2021 to 5,900 for the current period. Thus generating a year-over-year growth of 2,696 per cent in the export sales.
In the first half of FY 2021, the company has registered a total domestic sales of 18,951 units, with a growth of 459 per cent over last year. In international business, Nissan India exported 18,608 units in the FY H1, thus translating to a growth of 159 per cent. The shortage in the supply of semiconductors has created a lot of challenges for the entire automotive industry. And Nissan India is no exception in this case. The carmaker has ensured that they are in continuous touch with their supply chain partners to streamline the entire process. This will ensure shorter waiting periods, thus enhancing the ownership experience.
Festive Season To Further Propel The Demand
With the festive season just around the corner, Nissan is already witnessing an uptick in the booking figures. Led by Magnite, Nissan India sales figure is currently in a much better position when compared to a few years ago. In fact, the company was on the verge of exiting the country due to its poor sales performance. But, the launch of the Magnite has worked out pretty well and has completely changed the company’s fortune. Nissan now looks more than motivated to stay long in the Indian market and develop more innovative products.
Nissan India aims to improve the ease of ownership by the introduction of its car subscription plan. This will enable the customers to own a vehicle without having to pay the entire amount upfront. This is currently available in Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, and Chennai. This plan comes with Zero Down Payment, Zero Insurance Cost and Zero Maintenance Cost.
