New-gen Tata Nexon EV – what to expect?

As per the online reports, Tata is currently developing a new-gen Nexon.ev. The new model will be based on the same platform as shared by the Punch.ev i.e. the Acti.ev. This will allow the new model to perform better and provide better efficiency.

The launch of the new generation model is expected to take place by Diwali this year. Additionally, the new platform will allow Tata to equip Nexon.ev with two battery pack options similar to the Curvv.ev. These will be a 45kWh battery pack with a 489 km range and a 55kWh battery pack with 585 km range options.

Moreover, the new model will also get a new design that will make it identical to the upcoming Harrier.ev. Tata is also expected to revise the cabin layout, especially the rear seating comfort. Other crucial feature upgrades might include flush-type door handles, a dual 12.3-inch connected screen display, ADAS, and a ‘summon’ function as seen on the Curvv.ev.

Tata previously refreshed the Nexon.ev back in September 2023, when the car got a brand new design and new features. The current base variant comes loaded with a 30kWh battery pack, which is expected to change with the launch of the new-gen model.

Our verdict

The Nexon EV has been a popular budget electric vehicle since its launch. Its top-rated safety along with a comfortable cabin and ride, offers the customers a complete package. However, its driving range needs to be improved, which shall happen with the new-gen model launch.
