Fresh spy shots reveal bold new design

The next-generation Kia Seltos has been spotted testing in South Korea. Fresh spy shots reveal a bold new design with vertical LED headlamps and daytime running lights (DRLs). The front fascia features illuminated vertical slats, giving the SUV a striking appearance.

Next-gen Kia Seltos could get a hybrid powertrain

Sources suggest that the new Seltos might come with a hybrid powertrain. The hybrid system could combine a 1.5-litre petrol engine with an electric motor, offering improved fuel efficiency and reduced emissions. This would be a significant upgrade from the current petrol and diesel engine options.

Petrol and diesel powertrains

The next-gen Seltos is expected to feature a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine, delivering 115 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. This engine will be paired with a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission, providing a balance of performance and efficiency.

The diesel variant of the new Seltos will likely continue with the 1.5-litre CRDi VGT engine. This engine produces 114.41 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque, offering strong performance and a fuel efficiency of up to 20.7 kmpl.

Next-gen Kia Seltos expected launch

The new Seltos has undergone rigorous testing in various global markets. The vehicle was seen in a production-spec guise, indicating that Kia is gearing up for a launch. The expected launch date for the next-generation Seltos is early 2026. Kia could reveal the vehicle fully by the end of this year before the launch.

Our Thoughts

The next-generation Kia Seltos promises to bring a fresh and bold design, along with the possibility of a hybrid powertrain. This move aligns with the growing demand for eco-friendly vehicles and could attract a wider range of customers. The new design and advanced features are likely to make the Seltos a strong contender in the compact SUV segment where it is already quite popular.
